Solidarity
Greetings from the Swedish-Cuban Association
For:
Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, Fernando González
Llort, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino
Salazar och René González Sehwerert; fighters
for humanism, decency, truth and justice.
For:
Magali Llort, Irma Sehwerert, Mirtha Rodríguez, Carmen
Nordelo, Rosa Aurora Freijanes, Olga Salanueva, Adriana Pérez,
Elisabeth Palmeiro, Antonio Guerrero, Irma González
and all the family members who have so deeply been affected
by the severe blows of gross injustice, but who have never
given up hope that at the end justice will win and that you
will be reunited with your loved ones.
For:
The People of Cuba, who faithful to their spirit of determination
and their fight for the truth and humanism, never one second
have hesitated in the struggle for justice and freedom for
their Five Heroes.
It
is with great joy that we have received the news that the
U. S. Court of Appeals – Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta,
on the 9th of August announced its decision. Their decision
which annulls the convictions against you - Antonio, Fernando,
Gerardo, Ramón och René; also establishes the
fact that the trial staged against you in Miami was against
the letter of the law, and that you have the right to a new
trial to take place anywhere but in that city.
The
decision of the Court of Appeals is a great victory for justice.
In the name of justice the gates out of the prisons must be
opened for you. In the name of human decency your family members,
without exception, must immediately be granted visas to enter
the USA, so that they can meet you when you step out as free
men - the persecution against Adriana Pérez och Olga
Salanueva must end at once! You are now not even formally
regarded as guilty. Your prison sentences, which were based
on a complete miscarriage of justice, are therefore now judicially
established as what they morally and in fact all along have
been; kidnappings made possible by political corruption.
We
promise that, until the day you are safely back home, hugged
and kissed by your family members and the whole Cuban People,
we shall do what is within our means to as soon as possible
make that day a reality.
